Myanmar: Avoid travelling to Myanmar if not essential, advises Centre
NEW DELHI: As the security situation in Myanmar deteriorates further, the government asked all Indian nationals to avoid non-essential travel to the country.
“Those already living in Myanmar are advised to take precaution and avoid travel to the regions affected by violence. Inter-state travel by road should also be avoided,” said the government in an advisory.The government also requested Indian nationals living in Myanmar to register with the Indian embassy inYangon.
Fighting between the rebels and Myanmar security forces has intensified in the past few weeks.
India had earlier called for cessation of violence and constructive dialogue to resolve the situation, while appealing for return of peace, security and stability in Myanmar.
