Three drunken forest officers held at Bagaha | Patna News

BAGAHA/PATNA: Police on Monday night arrested three forestry officers in a drunken state at they give including the rangers of the Valmikinagar Tiger Reserve (VTR). They were arrested while returning from the neighboring state of Uttar Pradesh (UP).
They were sent to judicial detention in Bagaha sub-prison under various Excise and Prohibition articles, and also for creating obstacles to official work.
Police said Madanpur forest outreach officer Umesh Ram, rangers Sujeet Paswan and Brajesh Chauhan returned from the UP border after consuming liquor. Based on information from several reliable sources, a police team was dispatched to arrest them. When the defendant saw the police team near the border, they tried to run away from that place. However the Naurangia police led by ASI Rabindra kumar managed to arrest them. Meanwhile, a group of forestry officers tried to forcibly release the forestry officers when they were taken to the police station.
They closed the forest barrier located in Madanpur on NH-72.
Experiencing a tense situation, SHO Rajesh Kumar Jha of the Naurangia police with a large army arrived at the place and their attempt failed.
VTR director Dr Neshamadi said he was out of the station for four days. He got news in the morning, but more information could only be gathered from the official in charge.
